Today, Year 5 took part in an exciting first aid session in RSE where they learned some essential life-saving skills. The children explored how to help someone in an emergency, practised putting a casualty into the recovery position, and learned the important mnemonic DR ABC (Danger, Response, Airway, Breathing, Circulation).
The pupils showed great enthusiasm and maturity throughout the session, gaining valuable knowledge that could one day help them keep themselves and others safe. Well done, Year 5! 🚑👏

This week in school, our classes are exploring Islam as part of our multi-faith curriculum. For the first week of each half term we consider a different faith or tradition, helping pupils learn about and respect different beliefs and cultures.
Following the recent celebration of Eid, one of our superstars created a fantastic fact file full of interesting information and thoughtful work. 🌟 A very well deserved Headteacher’s Award! 👏

Today we celebrate the Feast Day of St. Augustine of Canterbury!
St. Augustine was a brave monk who travelled a long way to tell people in England about God’s love. He became the first Archbishop of Canterbury and helped many people learn about Jesus through kindness, prayer, and courage. ✝️
St. Augustine reminds us that even when something feels difficult or new, God can help us do great things. 💛

⭐️A huge well done to our Blackwell Adventure Stars of the week! ⭐️
Continuing our year 6 tradition, each member of staff chose a child for their star of the week. We also presented our room of the week with their prizes before finally crowning our Staveley Cup winner for 2026. Our Staveley Cup is presented to 1 child who goes above and beyond, helps staff and their peers, supports everyone and makes the most of every opportunity presented to them (very much like it’s namesake - the wonderful Mr Staveley). A HUGE well done to this years winner - a very well deserved award for a very special young man! 💙💛

All Year Six children have been collected after a very successful residential trip. We are so proud of the children, who took risks, worked together and proved to us all what wonderful young people they are growing up to be.
However, this post needs to be dedicated to the fantastic team who took the children away. They left their own families, functioned on very little sleep and provided the children with round the clock care and attention!
