Our students and staff have officially started their rowing journey to Raphael! What a fantastic effort so far, by the end of the week everyone at St Augustine’s will have contributed to this shared Our Lady of the Magnificat event.
Don’t forget, this Friday 1st May is packed with exciting events:
Non-Uniform Day-Children are invited to come to school in non-uniform, wearing sportswear suitable for rowing. We’ll be collecting cash donations in the morning in support of Father Hudson’s Caritas.
‘Beat the Staff’ Rowing Challenge (After School) Parents and carers are warmly invited to join us from 3:15pm for a fun, friendly challenge! Rowing machines will be set up outside with a live leaderboard—see how far you can row in just one minute and try to beat the staff! Donations are welcome (QR code or cash available on the day).

🌳 Another member of the St A’s dream team has been working all weekend 🌳 This public appreciation post is for the wonderful Ms Halfpenny (and family) who have spent the sunny weekend tidying up our Garden of Eden Space. They have been building a natural fence, clearing weeds and creating spaces to jump and balance 💙💛

Animals have been a bit of a theme in school recently. To add to the excitement, a nest has been made inside one of the traffic cones outside the reception classroom. Eggs have been laid in the nest and we are hoping we will see some fledglings in the coming weeks. To protect the nest and the birds we have had to cordon off the climbing frame in KS1.

Reception have loved finding out about 3D shapes in their maths learning this week. They have been naming the shapes, using mathematical language to talk about the shapes, finding 2D shapes within the shape and carrying out lots of practical activities to further their learning, including a shape hunt around school!
