At St Augustine’s, we recognise that technology and the internet play a vital role in children's lives. They provide valuable educational opportunities and equip children with essential skills for an increasingly digital world. Whether they are using computers at school, a laptop at home, a smartphone, or a gaming console, children have more ways than ever to access the internet.
As part of our curriculum, we ensure supervised access to online resources that support learning and skill development. Just as we protect children in the physical world, we are committed to keeping them safe in the digital space. Through our Online Safety lessons, the flashback fours (four questions linked to prior learning) at the start of each Computing session, and our wider curriculum, pupils learn how to navigate the internet safely and responsibly.
Remember regular conversations with children are the best forms of safety.
A simple and effective way to get involved with your children and their lives online is through discussion. By maintaining an open dialogue with your child and encouraging them to talk to you about their internet use, parents can help children access the amazing resources the internet has to offer whilst keeping them safe online.
